Thespi ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used for account verification and login
- Display name — shown publicly on your profile and reviews
- Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash; we never store your plain-text password
When you use the app, we also store:
- Shows you've marked as seen, want to see, or rated
- Reviews, sentiment ratings, and photos you choose to share
- Profile photo and bio, if you add them
- Follow relationships between users
How We Use Your Information
- To operate your account and provide the app's features
- To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
- To display your public profile, reviews, and rankings to other users
- To improve the app and fix bugs
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Resend — for sending transactional emails. Your email address is transmitted to Resend solely for this purpose.
- Railway — our server infrastructure provider, where your account data is stored.
Public Content
Reviews, ratings, display names, and profile photos you post are visible to other Thespi users. Do not include sensitive personal information in public reviews or your display name.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information (email, password, display name, profile photo, bio, and follow relationships) is permanently deleted immediately. Review content may remain in aggregate community data.
Your Rights
You can:
- Update your email address or password at any time in the app's Settings
- Edit your display name, bio, and profile photo at any time
- Delete your account permanently from Settings → Delete Account in the app
- Request a copy of your data or ask questions by contacting us at the support page
Children's Privacy
Thespi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
